About Us

Our Story

Statistics show that Black children are often misidentified as having learning disabilities—a reality I experienced firsthand. However, I was fortunate enough to be advocated for. Now, I’m paying it forward.

When my son began PreK4, I prepared him as much as possible, drawing from my own experience as an educator. It was his first time being around children who weren’t family and in an environment without me. I noticed that his teacher sent home notes alluding to him having “difficulty,” but I knew it was simply him being excited in a new setting. Understanding his capabilities, I was able to advocate for him, just as I had been advocated for when I was a child.

Our Mission

Leaders of Tomorrow Books is founded on the belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in a way that recognizes their unique needs and potential. Our mission is to empower parents and educators to observe, understand, and advocate for children, ensuring that no child—regardless of background—is misidentified or overlooked.

We provide parents with insightful, easy-to-use resources to help them understand where their children are in their learning journey. Our tools enable parents to discern whether their child is truly struggling or simply adjusting to new environments, helping them advocate for their child’s needs effectively.

For educators, Leaders of Tomorrow Books offers developmentally appropriate resources that can be incorporated into lesson plans, homework assignments, and extra practice. These books are designed to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment, where each child’s potential is not only recognized but nurtured.

Our goal is not only to help children succeed academically but to create a space where their emotional and social growth is equally prioritized. We believe that by equipping both parents and educators with the right tools, we can ensure that every child, like my son, has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in an environment that supports and empowers them.
